Manchester, United Kingdom, 13 April, 2021 AssetWorks, a leading provider of fleet and asset management software in the United Kingdom, announced its certification as an IT supplier for DVSA Earned Recognition.

The DVSA earned recognition scheme for vehicle operators helps prove their fleet organisation meets driver and vehicle standards. The scheme is designed to share performance information with DVSA and, in return, the vehicles are less likely to be stopped for roadside inspections. Roadside checks typically impact on business efficiency because they inevitably result in delays and in some instances subsequent fines.

On the certification, Mike Gadd, Managing Director of AssetWorks, said, “The key, and most immediate, benefit of achieving Earned Recognition status is that your vehicles are less likely to be stopped for roadside inspections, meaning that you no longer have to factor time for these potential stops into your journey planning.”

Switching to digital fleet management is the first step on the earned recognition journey, and operators that comply with KPI requirements will reduce these time-consuming inspections.

Operators that use the AssetWorks FleetFocus web-based fleet management technology to record walk-around inspection checks, logging defects, servicing and MoT information will be able to provide that information directly to DVSA and in accordance with the scheme requirements. This information recorded by transport managers will demonstrate to the DVSA that fleets are practicing robust and timely compliance methods.
